The Magic of Bubble Ceremonies: Why You Should Ditch the Confetti for Your Big Exit

As you make your grand exit from your wedding celebration, why not do it in a way that’s truly memorable? Bubble ceremonies are quickly becoming a popular trend for couples looking to add a touch of whimsy and romance to their big sendoff.

As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of capturing countless ceremonies and exits, and I have to say, there’s something truly special about the magic of bubbles. In this post, I’ll share why I think couples should consider using bubbles instead of confetti for their ceremony exit, and what you can do to make it happen.

Why Bubbles are the Way to Go

So, why should you ditch the confetti for your ceremony exit? For starters, bubbles are a more romantic and elegant way to make your grand exit. They add a touch of whimsy and wonder to your photos, and they’re a great way to capture the joy and excitement of your special day. Plus no drunken guest potentially setting your hair on fire at the end of the night. If you’re inviting kids to your wedding this is an awesome way for them to get involved too!

But let’s get practical. With ceremonies confetti can be messy, and it can also create a big mess on the floor to clean up. With bubbles, you don’t have to worry about any of that. Plus, bubbles are a lot easier to contain and clean up if they do get out of control.

The Importance of a Bubble Machine

Now, here’s the thing: bubbles don’t just magically appear out of thin air. You’ll need a bubble machine to create a steady stream of bubbles for your ceremony exit. And trust me, you won’t want to rely on individual bubble blowers – exits move quickly, and the chance of blowing a bubble on the exact moment you’re walking is very unlikely.

That’s why I recommend investing in a bubble machine. It’s a small investment that will pay off in big ways when it comes to your photos.

Tips for Preparing You and Your Guests

So, how do you prepare your guests for a bubble-filled ceremony or reception exit? Here are a few tips:

  • Set your guests up for success with bubbles machines, not single use bubbles so you can get that “lush effect”. You don’t need heaps of them 3 or 4 will do.
  • Strageically place them throughout your exit line, this will create a lot more volume and get that really bubbly exit look.
  • Do not give the bubble guns to drunken guests, you decide who gets them. Trust me, they will shoot you in the head and blast you.
  • Instruct the people holding the guns to “aim down” this way the bubbles will go out below you and as you are walking through they will rise up. This also prevents the ugly bubble guns in your photos.
  • Group participation is still super important to have a fun exit. So still give all of your guests little single blow bubbles or smaller bubble guns so they can participate and blow some bubbles. Make sure your guests know what’s happening beforehand.
  • You can include a note on your wedding program or send out a message on social media.
  • Walk slow as you have your bubbles around so they have time to do their thing, enjoy the moment. Just as you would with confetti or sparklers. Have several good songs ready to go. Dance, laugh, kiss, lift her up, do a kiss dip, this is going to be fun!

Other Things to Consider

Here are a few other things to consider when planning your bubble-filled ceremony exit:

  • Make sure you have permission from your venue to use bubbles. Some venues may have restrictions on confetti or other types of decorations.
  • Consider the time of day and lighting when planning your ceremony exit or reception exit. You’ll want to make sure that the bubbles are visible in your photos either way.
  • Consider any elderly close by that may slip and consider your venues, if you are on hardwood floors this may cause some hazards and you can discuss with your planner and venue options to assist in creating solutions for this in advance!

In conclusion, using bubbles instead of confetti for your ceremony exit or bubbles instead of sparklers for your reception exit is a great way to add some romance and whimsy to your special day.

Trust me, you won’t regret it. The magic of bubbles is something truly special, and it will make your wedding photos truly unforgettable, and if you’re looking for a wedding photographer to capture it all for you then I would love to hear from you!
