Bridal Party Portraits: Tips and Tricks for a Fun and Relaxing Experience

As your wedding photographer, I’m here to help you ditch the stress and have a blast with your squad, so let’s get comfortable, get creative, and make some unforgettable memories together!

As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of capturing countless bridal party portraits over the years, and I’ve learned a thing or two about what makes for a successful and enjoyable experience. In this blog post, I’ll share my top tips and tricks for making your bridal party portraits a blast!

Allow Time to Have Fun

Make sure to schedule at least 30 minutes for your bridal party shoot. This time is all about having a good time with your crew, and I’m happy to bring a speaker to get the party started with your favorite tunes! We’ll have a blast laughing and having fun together.

Get Prepared

Before we head out to our locations, take a minute to think about what we might encounter. Are we going up hills? Is it likely to be windy or chilly? Pack accordingly – bring jackets, comfy shoes, and umbrellas if it’s looking like rain. And don’t forget to pack snacks and bottled water in your transportation – you’ll need it!

Choose Comfortable Outfits

When it comes to your outfits, prioritise comfort above all else. Choose relaxed, easy-to-move-around-in clothes that won’t make you feel like you’re suffocating. Trust me, you don’t want to be worrying about puffy dresses or tight pants ripping (it’s happened, by the way!). And please, for the love of all things good, wear comfortable shoes that won’t blister your feet.

Get Close and Laugh Together

Remember, the goal of our bridal party shoot is to capture real, genuine moments between you and your squad. So don’t be afraid to get close and loved up with each other. Laugh, joke around, and have fun – it’s contagious! As you relax and let go of any preconceived notions about what “should” happen during the shoot, you’ll find that it gets easier and more enjoyable.

Champagne, Confetti, and Smoke Bombs: The Extras

Of course, no bridal party shoot would be complete without a few fun extras. Bring champagne to pop some bubbly (because why not?!), confetti to add some extra sparkle, and smoke bombs to create some dramatic effects. And don’t forget to pack some snacks – you’ll need the energy!

By following these tips and tricks, we’ll be able to capture some truly amazing bridal party portraits that you’ll treasure for years to come. So relax, have fun, and let’s make some unforgettable memories together! If you’re looking for a wedding photographer to capture it all, then contact me today I’d love to hear from you!
